Peterson, Robert

Tanks went a little crazy today, have free swimming fry from my Pelvicachromis Pulcher, my Salvini's, my convicts, and I have what may be wrigglers of a couple other fish that I need to get IDed. I will work on getting photos of all the fry sometime tomorrow.

Believe that one of the wriggler sets is Herotilapia multispinosa.....I know its a Central American, just not sure but the coloration matches what I am finding online.

Hey Rob,
Where did you get your rainbows. I want to replace the ones I lost when I broke down my fishroom. I've been looking around locally but haven't been able to find any.

Did you get them as adults or did you grow them out.

Kevin,

I got them from Beverle Sweitzer when she closed down and moved her business at the beginning of 2008. I had three females already that were juveniles, and picked up about a dozen adults from her. I have about ten now total. I am not sure of the male/female ratio of the group but this is the first real breeding efforts I have seen from them. If you make the GWAPA meeting at my house you can give them a look. The tank they are in is a bit overstocked so I would be willing to part with a few of them if you wanted to give them a try. I am hesitant to do much moving around in the tank right now since they are still wrigglers and I dont want to scare the parents into eating this batch.

Rainbow cichlids (Archocentrus multispinosus) are great fish - had a couple of pairs in Sacramento (that I sold before I left). I'd also be interested in some of your fry...

For that matter, doesn anyone have a line on some Arch. spinosissimus? They're really mellow fish. Also sold my pairs of these guys when we moved cross country. Sadly, they're "rare" these days :(
