I plan on buying a new 120g in the next 6 months. Should I get an overflow and use a sump or just get a canister filter.
My only experience with an overflow and sump was with my reef tank that I had in the late 80's through 1998 when I moved. Back then we had to make the trickle filter (nothing commercially for sale at that time) and the overflow hung on the out side. The water flow did make alott of noise. I do have allot of experience with plumbing, so that's not an issue.
Are the inside of tank overflows any quieter?
