Looking For 30 Or 38 Longs

I am currently looking for 30 and 38 long aquariums. I need 4 more. They are both 36" long, not 30" like a 29gal. I don't really need stand/hoods/lights as these are going onto custom built shelves, but I'll discuss any offer you have.

Older filters/heaters are going to be needed too.

If you come to the PVAS auction on June 6, you'll probably see lots of those things there.

Looking forward to the June 6th auction! Just a heads up for anyone buying or selling who hasn't seen the flyer sent out by PVAS. The June 6th auction will be your last chance for awhile to buy/sell tanks, supplies, etc at a pvas auction. The pvas fall festival auction this year will be livestock and corporate donations ONLY, no drygoods. So if you've got stuff (other than fishies) or if you're looking for fishroom supplies, get on out to Laurel on June 6th! :D

I can only guess, but the sheer quantity of used material of questionable quality taking up so much time could be a reason. I know that have have purchased materials which were listed as "like new" or "in working condition" and found that not to be the case. I bought a rather large air pump still in the box with the pump wrapped in plastic that was listed as "new condition" and when I tried it, it didn't work. When I opened it up, I found that it had apparently suffered water damage because some of the parts were rusted. The former owner apparently had it get soaked and then cleaned up the exterior and sold it as workable. That's why I won't buy anything I don't see actually working.

I don't know if that is the reasoning behind the decision but I could totally understand if it was. I bought a bag of antibiotics at the winter auction for about $20. I guessed that some of them might not be useable, but with the size of the bag and the amount in it one would think that at least SOME of the meds would be good. As it turned out, the newest ones in the bag had an expiration date of 1998. The main reason I bought it was for several vials of metranidazol and when I opened them they were totally discolored and solidified... <_<

I spoke to the PVAS president, and he said that it was more a decision of time than anything else. PVAS still believes in "let the buyer beware". They are just concerned about being able to physically auction off everything in one day since this auction coincides with the "Catfish Convention". From what I hear about the number of people already signed up, this thing is going to be huge. Takashi Amano is even going to be giving a talk there if i understood right at the last meeting.
