slowly raise the tank temp. to 87* maintain for 2-3 wks. Add extra aeration (bubble stones, surface agitation, do water changes) I have read that salt doesn't do much.

This seems to be the way to go.

Question is: in a large tank with fish that seems fine and a few that clearly have ick... leave the sick fish in the tank and just raise the temp?
or QT the sick fish and just raise the temp on the QT tank?

For now, I left all fish in the large tank and I'm raising the temp to 87.
Will leave it for 2-3 weeks and hope for the best.
