I Have Fish Too!

I've been taking so many pix of others fish, I thought I would try a few of my own. Just did some belated water changes this morning and snapped a few pix a couple minutes ago.

Here is one I quickly post edited. Have to leave for the Super Bowl Party.

Francine and Pat, give me a critique.

Good exposure, but cropped too tight. I'm leaving for SB Party...More when I get back. Then again, tomorrow!

Just got back from the Super Bowl party. I guess the Steelers proved they are the best team in the NFL for the last month or so. Although I would have preferred the Seahawks to win, don't really care since I had both teams in the playoffs pool. The two missed field goals cost me $370. But I still won $50...better than nothing.

About the photo. Francine, I knew this shot was too tightly framed. But would you believe I had to add frame to it in ps. The fish swam into my lens and I got it all in the frame, but barely. I added ten pixels to each side of this downsized 640 wide save.

With the size of these Peacocks, and the 60mm macro, many times I can't fit them in the frame because I have to have the lens just so close to the built-in-the-wall tank to trigger the remote flash on the other side of the wall.

This explains why so many of my shots are full framed profiles. I don't usually crop when I use the 60mm f/2.8 micro lens.

I have my best success with framing subjects with the 50mm f/1.8d. But it is not as sharp as the 60mm macro. The silly thing to do would be to buy a 50mm macro lens. Benny Ng has a 50mm, 60mm, and 100mm macro for aquarium photography. I understand why now. B)

I think this one is better framed. No cropping on this one either. But I had it centered in the frame with a little more distance because he wasn't quite as close to the glass.

I like the pose on this a lot.
