Hmm, interesting development of the my GBR spawn last night. As it stands, my GBR pair have been spawning pretty consistantly every 10-12 days. After the 2nd day, all the eggs are gone. This has been happening for the last 8 spawns and on their 9th try, it looks they have made some progress.
The eggs looked like they hatched last night and become wigglers. The parents actually moved them to a new location. Guarding duties seem to have switched though, which I find interesting. The Male was the one that was hovering/guarding the eggs, while the female patrolled. Once the wigglers got moved, the male seemed to have lost interest in the wigglers and the female is the one that is guarding them now. They dug a hole by some driftwood in the sand have placed the wigglers in there. The male in the meantime has dug another hole in the corner of the tank. I'm wondering if they are going to move them again. I'm a little worried about the placement of the second hole as it's right by a internal filter, and right underneath the heater .....I may have to turn the filter off for now.
