Hey guys, I just got a used Eheim 2215 for nothing. My friend got a used full tank setup and I did the legwork/moving etc. My payment was the filter since he didn't need it. The only problem is that it doesn't seem to work at all. If you plug it in for a second there is no rotation of the impeller and no noise whatsoever. This is a dry test so do I need to fill it with water and go through the whole setup just to see if it works? All the other filters I have will show at least some sign of life when dry. Should I just give up on it or are there some steps to try to get it working? The impeller and shaft seem clean and unobstructed and there is some magnetic resistance when turning the impeller by hand. Any help would be appreciated.
