I looked quickly on Planet Catfish, and although there are multiple species called "glass catfish", all the ones I looked at did not have any reports of breeding in captivity.

I've kept them in groups for years and I have a feeling that they are egg scatterers. I've seen behavior that seems similar to what you see when other schooling, scattering fish spawn, but have never found fry.
Heck, I couldn't even tell you if I have males and females. I think we have 8 or 9 of them in the 150 right now and Jeremy amasses more every chance he gets.

Sounds like a job for.... YOU!
Maybe if you just stick a big group in a tank with lots of moss and play around with temps and water changes you'll have success.

I have one. not a breeder in the aquarium from what I read when I got one. very cool fish though.

no more common than cardinal tetras and neon tetras...and those are pretty much all wild caught and imported as well.
