For Those Waiting For Aquafest2007 Pix...

...please be patient. Especially the show pix.

Here are a couple examples of a beautiful fish, that are not neccessarilly in a perfect venue to be photographed. While these shots are exposed and composed fairly well, you can see that the filthy tanks and micro bubbles make these images almost impossible to share. It takes about 30 minutes to make this shot barely acceptable. Multiply that by a hundred, and you may understand why it is taking so long to get any decent photos for the site.

Between this fish and the one Bobby had in the show, I may have to go to the "dark side" and set up a tank for fish from the "other lake"
Thanks,
Daniel

Concentrate...feel the Force flow. Yes. Good. Calm, yes. Through the Force, things you will see. Other places. The future...the past. Old friends long gone.

I'm happy to be part of the dark side. There are some benefits to being a fan of the less common or exposed species. It's like a really good secret.

All I know is that I have a strange inclination to start tatooing my initials on my fish now. :happy0012:

Short of going in and cloning out the bubbles...what do you do to remove the debris?[/b]

Mo, to preserve the integrity of the composition, I will clone out all the micro bubbles and debris. Then, in instances like the above example, I will blurr out the background to help eliminate the smaller distractions. Maybe an adjustment in curves and levels. And that should do it.

The tedius stuff is individually removing the distractions that may be in the foreground of the fish (actually on the fish). Painting back the real color takes a lot of time. It is done with a maximum zoomed frame normally. That way I can use a brush that is 1 to 3 pixels in size.

I won't fool with these shots until I am totally bored. Seriously, at least a half hour on each. So Richard, don't hold your breath. Brad Pitt is in hiding currently. :scared0016:

I know what you mean Bobby. I can waste countless hours cloning out scratches, specks, highlights, etc. But only if I'm in the mood or the photo merits the attention.

I tried to do that once.... But didn't really succeed. Probably because I don't really have that type of patience.... Kudos to those of you who do!!!! (even if on an irregular basis....)

Later!
Amanda.

I'm with you there Amanda. I can't even imagine trying to clone out little microbubbles and specks. I'd be bonkers inside of 10 minutes.
I'm adding my kudos to those with that kind of patience too! Me and my "instant gratification devil" appreciates it!
