When you go onto Hagen's Website this is what it says about the Fluval "E" Series Heater...
Simply the most technologically advanced heaters available today, the Fluval E series advanced electronic aquarium heater with VueTech technology delivers peace of mind by continuously displaying real time water temperature. Equipped with an advanced digital microprocessor monitoring system with dual temperature sensors, the E series continuously monitors and displays aquarium water temperature, ensuring the well-being of your aquarium inhabitants.
Save your money. As I have read elsewhere, ECC included, this heater is flawed throughout.
I recently tried one of these heaters on a 55g. A good heater that is rated @ 200 watts should keep a 55g at a comfortable temp, even for African-Keepers. Well this "E" Series that I tried was a 300w heater...good for tanks up to 90g, IMO.
The previous heater had stopped, and the temp had dropped down to the upper 60's. I set the "E" Series in the tank, and 20 mins later plugged it in...setting the temperature at 74f. 24 hours later and the tank was at 71f, so I set the heater at 76.5f. Two days later and the tank is at 71.5f.
Awful.
I have since replaced it with a Marineland Visi-therm.
