Elusive Goldhead

Finally got a shot of my elusive Goldhead. Flashes were not set up to take this shot, so it is severly underexposed and out of focus. This is the ONLY shot I have been able to get of this fish, very camera shy. Stuck his head out just long enough to get this shot. I had already been sitting in front of the tank for about 45 minutes when I got this one. I really want this guy to relax and come out so I can get a good shot, I think this is going to be a beautiful fish.

Mike, it's all about the "hunt". Not necessarily about the shot. You got'em in your lens, that's a great reward.

Although...45 minutes! Only in the woods my friend. :lol:

I wanted to add that the most reclusive fish normally seem to be the best looking. I think your guy here falls into that category.

I actually didn't remember taking 2 shots of this fish! Imagine my surprise, when I was cleaning the shots off the memory card and found this one. Now need to try and upgrade again!

He, he...you are a better photographer than YOU even know. The second shot is the better imo. In fact, it's pretty darn good.

Thanks Sarah, I took the last 3 that were in the warehouse, probably all males. The one that "might" be a female is still pretty small, so we will see.

I took 4 of the 7, trying to get a pair. That shy one you had wedged himself into one of the breeding caves and we couldn't get him out to look at him. I've got 2 males, maybe a third by the way the dominant male runs at the two of them. The 4th fish is much much smaller and they all leave it alone. It's either a female, or too small to get anyone in a huff. One of us needs to get some fry out of these guys. They are a spectacular group IMO.

Thats funny!! Thats how I caught him, just picked up the breeding cave. It is a nice group, that is why I snatched up the other 3.
