Blue x Red zebra identification

I just got this fish with a tank I just bought and I think it is a blue male for the red zebra variety but it's hard to tell. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

Can't help ya, but Africans = old world.

From my experience it's unusual to just run across a blue male at random. Even my first batch of F1s had 3 orange males and only one blue male.

With that in mind, the fish in your picture looks maybe a little too uniformly purpley for a blue red zebra. Maybe a kenyi female?
