Here is my 46g Bowfront with a pair of Australoheros Oblongum. They are a beautiful and mellow SA Chanchito. They are great parents and have a strong pair bond.

I removed some fry to grow out and eventually sell to get more of these underated and ignored fish back in the hobby. They are about 3/8" long now and healthy and lively.

Thanks for looking.....Bill

Nice fish. Also nice to see you didn't stop with the 75. Once infected it wasn't cured even after that long. Glad to see it.

Sounds good. It looks like I have about 40 or so. I believe most people want them at 1" or so?

They spawned again today. I may leave the fry in the tank this time and let nature take its course. Or I gueass I could mix them with the first spawn. I would say they are a lil too small to eat them. The fry tank is a 26g. I dont want to overcrowd it.

What do you think I should do??

My pair stays in breeding colors all the time, even though they haven't spawned for a couple months now. They went 6 rounds before taking a break. I'd leave the eggs/fry where they are this time around. There will be more to come.

These guys are growing slow. Only about 1/2" now, but at least they look like fish.

I feed 4-5 time a day. Various foods that I crush so they fit in their mouths. De-encapsulated brine shrimp eggs, Hikari Cichlid gold, and flake.

I do water changes every third day.

Any other tips?

The original spawn was pretty small and I lost a few so have about 30 fry in the 26g tank.

Thanks....Bill

I like Hikari First Bites. It's a powder so there is no crushing. I usually wet a finger, dip in the bag, roll it up and put it in the tank near the fry. Some stays on top and the rest usually breaks up on the way down.

I was somewhat surprised to find a new spawn from my pair of adults tonight. They're currently sharing a 75 with several Victorian Hap's, a single male P. nicholsi, and a group of Synodontis multi's.

Well these guys are Slooow growers. A bunch are dime sized and look great. They eat like pigs and are very active.

A handfull stay at the bottom and are still very small.

I think I will start selling these guys as Trios. One larger fish and two smaller for $10 + $10 Priority shipping.

I will include a heat pack but would like to ship before it gets too cold.

Latger fish (I assume male) are about 3/4". Smaller (possibly female) are about 1/2-5/8".
