One of my neighbors in Shepherd Park (just north of Walter Reed) just posted this:
Neighbors --
We just put a 70 gallon fish tank and stand (plus all the equipment,
filters etc) in the alley behind our garage. It has a piece of
plastic over to protect it in case it rains. It is free for the taking.
The tank itself is 49 wide, 21 high, and 18.5 deep. The stand
(black wrought iron) is a separate piece and is 30.5 high and the
same width and depth as the tank. So together the two are 51.5 high,
49 wide and 18.5 deep. It will take two people to get the two big
pieces into a vehicle.
It is in the alley behind our garage. Enter the alley from Geranium,
between 12th Street and Georgia Avenue -- there are two alleys, ours
is the alley closest to 12th Street. Our garage is across from the
high cinderblock retaining wall and driveway and has the letters 7423
on it, for our address 7423 12th Street.
Please do not call or email me individually. I will not be able to
respond. But I will check from time to time and send out a notice on
the listserve when it is gone.
