HOWARD COUNTY SCHOOLS OPEN BACK UP FOR 2009-2010 SCHOOL YEAR. YES ITS THAT TIME ALREADY. IM NOT READY TO HELP WITH HW YET. THEY JUST GOT OUT ALREADY OH AND THE JOY OF SCHOOL SHOPPING. :wacko: SOME FOLKS ARE GLAD FOR THEIR KIDS TO GO BACK BUT NOT ME. LIFE GETS REALLY HECTIC AND EXPENSIVE WITH SCHOOL INVOLVED. NOT TO MENTION YOU SEND YOUR CHILD TO SCHOOL HEALTHY TO SIT NEXT TO LITTLE JOHNNY WHOSE PARENTS SENT HIM TO SCHOOL KNOWING HE WAS SICK AND CONTAGIOUS. :angry3: LEADING SIBLINGS TO GET SICK, THEN MOM, WHICH OF COURSE LEADS TO ME :angry3:. IT WILL HAPPEN AND IT ALWAYS DOES KIDS ARE SICK 2 DAYS AND WE ADULTS ARE SICK FOR A WEEK THAT SAID IM WISHING EVERYONE OF YOU PARENTS A SAFE AND HEALTHY SCHOOL YEAR.

Mine don't go back until Sept. 7th! Going to do the school supply shop tomorrow - tax free day in VA! Spent the morning making the list - with three in school it gets to complex to do three different lists. Betcha it costs about $200 for supplies alone. My oldest is supposed to have a thumb drive this year... I need about a dozen binders, 20 folders, 7 of those marble comp. books, 4 single subject notebooks, 1 3 subject notebook (you get the idea) lol

And, I agree about sending sick kids to school - every year we seem to have a month (or more) when everyone is just passing on whatever bug they have back and forth.

Ahhh. I'm still in the mindset that summer is starting to wind down and classes will start soon. But I'm not going back, wish I was, this year was not a good year to graduate. Should of stayed on the 5-year program and be a super-senior. lol

I remember that feeling... I tried my hardest to fail my Sr. year and failed at failing... how stupid is that? lol

It is not just the kids who get sick from "little johnny". We teachers are continuously battling every virus (and parasite) known to man. When our immune systems are finally compromised and we need more than a day or two of bed rest, we get parents complaining that their child is not receiving a good education because a substitute is in the classroom. As for you parents who recognize the responsibility associated with being a parent and provide for your children as well as actually parent them, THANK YOU!
