this stuff is better then tahitian moon sand and cheaper too. i pay 20.00/50lb bag. my fish love to dig in it and its safe for them. it comes in a fine "s" grade like beach sand just heavier since it is quartz with a ceramic coating. it also comes in "t" grade which is little bigger and coarser but the bigger fish enjoy this too.

i get mine from metro sealants here in md but they have a n.va location as well from what i hear.

Man they love the 3m black sand. It does wonders on the pictures. It makes my Fronts pop off of the background. It was a little bit of a pain to rinse. Stained the buckets I used to rinse the sand.

The T grade also holds a slope like nothing else I've ever seen when it comes to scaping and making hills/slopes.

I never bothered even rinsing it- it is pretty clean out of the bag, and takes one pickup of film off the top of a new setup to be running clean and good.


PS Those Bamboo are destined to die, that is not an aquatic plant.
