Nice!!! Very tall and narrow looking.. What's the dimensions? How much was the price on a tank like this? Update us!

It looked wider in the last pic I saw, how many inches of tank space does the background take up? In terms of depth before and after? It looks so much bigger than 240. Never really saw a tank with so much up/down space to swim. Going to be cool to see which fish occupy different depths. Whats going in it and how the hell are you going to move it? What are your plans for filtration and airation? Will you have to get a bigger pump to compensate for the increased head preasure or to get air to the bottom? Love the tank, love to know the details on what's going to make it work.

I'd make a big stack of rocks in it (all the way too the top) and add a bunch of 1-2 kinds of mbuna (that won't hybridize) and some kind of Hap to thin the herd of babies...

I had an 8' tall tank back in Sacramento (think a shower stall with an 8'x4' plexiglass front...with a fiberglass rock background)...and the mbuna oriented on the rocks vertically. It was really cool. Just nearly impossible to get any fish out of it. Choose your stock wisely!

How are you filtering it?

I'd add a couple of circulation pumps near the bottom (and use minimal substrate) to ensure that poop and other stuff is kicked up to somewhere where a filter can catch it.

My tall tank was plumbed (behind the fiberglass rock background) with two 6" PVC surface overflows (filled with bio material) and pumped back through the bottom of the tank via a massive pump.

There is a massive amount of pressure on the front glass (plexi?). Have you tested if it hold water? Checked for excess bowing?

Looks amazing...just requires some extra thinking when tanks are so deep!

The tank looks more narrow now becouse itss full..I DIY made a filter that will run about 2000.glns..my pump is a jucuzi 10000 per hour flow rate..I put an ajustable valve to adjust flow from 0- full..my air pump is a pump I used to use for hydroponics..it has a 8 valve manafold on it..can also put the 16 valve on it..will runup to 24 lines..with 8 valves on..the bubbles are rediculus..pump runs on 100 psi..

The entire tank has angle iron around it..the back is framed with 2x6..the sides are 2" thick..Its been filled..not even slight bowing..the acrllic is 1" thick..the motors accessible through the back bottom..the plumbing runs through the back decking..my filter can handle up to a 2000 gallon tank..air lines run down the inside of the background.I built every piece my self..what do ya think?..

1" acrylic is pretty solid stuff!

Post some pictures of the filtration system and other behind the scenes stuff :)

See how much room acually from background..optical allusion couse its filled..lol..canister filter is 6' tall..will have 20lbs. Of carbon..plus acouple bags of bio..will also have couple sponge filters behind rocks..and everything detaches at the pump..the filter setting ill keep it on will be enough to run about a 500 gln. Tank..can set it to run about a 2000 gln. Tank..

Imo Ditch the carbon add bio media

Post says 20lbs. Of carbon and acouple bags of bio..lol..

Yes ditch the carbon add bio media. As in additional bio media. Can't imagine any tank that would need 20lbs of carbon, Unless you plan on dumping poison in. Can't imagine why any well maintained, healthy tank would even need any carbon.
