An airstone made by Lee products I believe

they are small air stones that you put in side of sponge filters. They help significantly reduce the bubbling sound. They are usually sold in a 6 pack but fish geeks some times buy them in bulk

They sell the course ones in bulk 100 pcs. that's how I buy them.
you can soak in bleach for quick fix.
