Just to cut things down a bit, let's do a little bingo type thing to see what people have kept
Nothing to win, but have you kept...
-poeciliadae livebearer species?
-rift lake cichlids?
-rainbowfish?
-a designer hybrid cichlid like a blood parrot or flowerhorn?
-a CARES species?
-any goldfish or pond fish in general?
-any US native species?
-any sort of "monster fish"?
-killifish?
-any sort of L number pleco or C number cory?
-a brackish species in brackish water?
-any wild species of betta?
-any amatitlania sp.?
-angels or discus?
again this is just to see which of these people have kept since I see these as the essentials of freshwater fishkeeping (plus the brackish thing), but I know most of the people on here probably have or have had almost all of these.
i've had poeciliadae livebearers, rainbows, I have a blood parrot, I have my neolamprologus cygnus which are of course tanganyikan cichlids and they're CARES species, I have a goldfish and a longear sunfish, I have a pair of gold australe killis, I have had L144a plecos, I've kept and bred honduran red points, and I kept both angels and discus in the past.
