Apparently sale goes through middle of March.

There is no limit on quantity, and also includes more species such as Cardinal, Columbian and Buenos Aires.

I have never seen cardinals at Petsmart and I would be scared to get them from Petsmart.

I have terrible luck with cardinals.

Great with neons... terrible with cardinals.....

My only two fish I ever bought from Petsmart are my Female Con, which is amazing looking. Also my single Clown Loach which also is healthy,colorful, big and fat. They are over a year old.

Should I stay away from Cardinals? I have my eye on the black neons which look nice. Would they be hardier?

Is 15-20 too many for a 24" tank?? Or is 10-12 better.

Black neons are much hardier than cardinals. For a 24" tank, 10 to 12 would be better, but if you don't have other fish, 15 to 20 would be ok, too.
