Media for a FX5

I've got an FX5 coming from ebay to set up on my 180G :)! I just wanted to poll those who have them to see what you use for media in the filter. I have heard that Seachem pond matrix is a good option for bio, but I have never used it.

Let me know what you guys are using.

I use AC sponges and Bio matrix. I also include abit of poly bio pad to keep the water crisp and clear looking.

I used sponges and the old ceramic/glass rings in my smaller Fluvals until I upgraded to the wet/dry. New setup uses coarse filter pads and floss, with the same rings and scrubby pads (fully submerged) and bioballs in the trickle area.

There is one club member (I won't mention names, Matt) who uses green plastic army men in his trickle filters. :D

Hey, anything that's not toxic to the fish and doesn't alter the water chemistry much and has a lot of surface area will do the trick!
