Geophagus Aereos Behaviors

Have (4) Geophagus aereos. One fish was getting picked on and looked stressed: removed to another tank - doing fine now. Another is clearly hiding from the "main" two. Could this be pairing behavior or are these fish just plain mean?

Paul.

Thanks.

Don't know much about Geophagus, but what I know about cichlids is that if you see one fish hiding or trying to hide in a corner of the tank and two fish are swimming together and harassing that fish together...ummm, it might be a pair.

If the fish attack separately, does it return back to the other? If so,....ummm, it might be a pair.

Take the third out and see how they behave. If the other two continue to swim together, if they start clearing and cleaning a site....bingo; you've got a pair.

Keep us posted on what's going on!
