I have heard of people keeping them in 20s as trios for breeding. But I would say they would be fine in a 29 or a community tank. I kept them in a 55 with tons of other fish and I have to say they keep to them selves and wont start fights but they will not turn down a fight ever.
The first pic is the male you can kind of get an idea of how gold his head is. He didn't like the idea of a camera following him around so he decided to take cover. The next two are the females. I also have three shells that go along with these guys and that is where they spawn.
