Breeding Mates Dying

I have lost my breeding female dovi and Honduran Jag over the last month and a half. I have own both breeding pairs for almost 5 years now. I am curious as to what others do with the single mate that's left after one dies?

Sell them. Search for a mate. Those are really the only two options I see.

Yeah, not too many other options. Sometimes I will use the lonely male as a target fish with another pair or just put them in a community setting.
