George- Will you be my dad?

Actually, I've got a Glennfiddich 18 sitting in the pantry that I intend to crack open and pour a couple fingers for you when you get here. :happy0180:

If you crack this open, I am going to have to cancel my family vacation so I can come over. Really sucks I am going to miss the great event.

I am old and foolish. I do not deny it. This is a group that livens my soul. I helped start this great club. I do not know where all these enthusiastic, terrific young people found out about our club. Beer is currently brewing in my basement. I love beer. A bunch of guys and GOOD LOOKING girls like we have here cannot possibly tell good beer from bad beer after two. Sorry folks, it is pretty much a fact. Bring two of the beers you love best and then we shall all get a little crazy.

Now lets back up a bit. Just because we are getting crazy does not mean we have to drink bad beer after that. I did not say that. Blatz is awful even if you are blitzed. Miller Light is going to taste like water to most folks even if they have had a six pack. My point is not to spend a fortune on the best beer you can find. I like to get a six of good stuff like some Sam or German and then a twelve of Miller or Bud. Who is going to tell me that at the end of the night when they want a last brew they wouldn't do a Natural Light?

I know I am amongst friends. You get my drift. A six of something that costs 7 or 8 bucks and for the rest something cheaper will do.

Now that we have settled the beer, I hope nobody is going to bring cheap US cigars.

George

Very well said George :D....and don't worry I wont be brining any cheap cigars my friend.

This company is out of wisconsin but there are some places around here that carry Leinenkugel. I like all their beers and they are inexpensive too ! Maybe I'll bring a couple six packs along with what ever else I bring.... so you guys can try them before you get to the ACA ....you will know what the locals drink :)

I always have some Black and Mild in my car.

I've tried to aquire a taste for beer but after a dozen tries and never getting more than half a can down I gave up. I was forced to brink beer all day once at an outdoor concert, it was Moslen Ice and I liked it by the end of the day we ran out of money and only had enough between us for 1 can of bud, I took one sip and haven't touched beer since, that was 16yrs ago. Liquor Liquor Liquor :jumpy:

I find most of the "ICE" beers pretty awful. Bud would be VERY bitter after that though. You should try a Bud Light Lime. Most true wheat beers might also appeal to you. On the other hand, as they say, cahdy is dandy, but liquor is quicker. Maybe that doesn't apply here but so what? Even though I love beer, after a hard day, give me a good Gin Martini every time. Olives or cocktail onions are OK but even better is a pickled mushroom. Now I'm thirsty. I hate this thread.

Looks like the domestics and light beers are the preferred, but the club likes a good variety. Looking forward to saturday and seeing what people bring.

Life is too short to drink bad beer! And there are so many good American micro brews these days, we're in the Golden Age of Good Beer. Stone Arrogant ******* is my current Fave (I have 3-4 every Tuesday night at Trivia), but other good ones include Flying Dog, Clipper City/Heavy Seas, Anchor Steam/Porter/Liberty Ale, Bass Ale, Sam Adams, and if I'm someplace that doesn't have an exotic beer selection, I'll often go with Killian's Irish Red or Yeungling Lager.

My biggest problem with beer is that I cannot tell how drunk I'm getting, so I caount the number of beers I've consumed like this: one, two, many.... :-D

Really bummed that I cannot make it. My vacations plans are to leave Sunday morning to Disney (Still a HUGE secret to my son). I had to go this week as this was one of the few weeks during the Summer that my wife could get off from work.
I hope to see plenty of pictures and to hear that there was some great beer there, not the stuff that George wants to swallow down.

If the party is still going on into Sunday then maybe as I drive down 95 I will stop by for a burger and a beer.:D

Have a great time!!!

You are so right about this golden age of beer. Many years ago my uncle serve in Germany in the military and introduced me to expensive foreign beers. They were so much better than US brews but Oh so pricey. No more. Some of the world's best is brewed right here in our micro-breweries. Definitely something we can all drink to!!

Pat likes hard lemonade and hard cider if I recall correctly.
