Fish have a tough time actually eating them - the shells are pretty hard. I'd recommend going hunting for some in puddles in the spring. I have a tank with them, but catching them is easier said than done.

They're super tiny. I've seen fish gobble them up only to have the shrimp swim right back out the mouth or gills undamaged. Daphnia and scuds are meatier and easier to catch.
