I don't think Becca has to have brackish conditions to survive, but the baby amanos do.

I don’t know. She can be a little salty so maybe brackish water IS required.

It's actually more complicated than that. They hatch in freshwater and the larvae are swept downstream, encountering various salinity levels (from fresh to salt) at different stages of maturity. This is extremely difficult to replicate in a home aquarium and those who have managed it only got a handful of surviving fry -their efforts were more for bragging rights than for any other purpose.
