Texas or Not?

Hello All,
This has been a discussion between my significant other and I if the Texas cichlids we have are actually Texans or Carpintis.
Both are in separate tanks and similar age:

Above is what I think is a pearl scale Male.

Would love the help in the mystery!

Neither appear to be a pure species. Theres herichthys somewhere in there, but definitely don’t appear pure in any form to me

Yeah they just have such a difference in behavior and color had a feeling option C was a mix

I agree. Neither look like pure carpintis or cyanoguttatus. I suspect they are low grade "red texas" hybrids.

I'm wondering the same about my fish...sold as a Green Texas...but I doubt it so I posted in groups and people have been saying flowerhorn, vieja x texas, and unfaded red texas...I still dont know
