Some clarification on growout tanks

So I have a 30b I plan on growing out ram fry in, would it be too over the top to have a pair of ancistrus breeding in the growout tank if I just throw in like 4 oversized sponge filters and keep up on waterchanges?

I wouldn't do it. Rams like good water quality and filters will only do so much to keep up with pleco poop once you have 100+ plecos growing out in there. The plecos also are much bigger than little baby Rams and will be competition for food, at least to an extent. It's one thing to have a small pleco in there to eat what the Ram fry don't, but having a bunch of them in there could mean starving your fry.
