Scuba Diving in Cozumel Mexico

Spending a week in Cozumel Mexico, they’re known for tons of great dive sites, some of the best in this hemisphere.

Great weather today, was able to get out with a local dive shop for 2 dives. Didn’t have an underwater camera, so don’t have any dive pictures, but saw some cool stuff.

Several types of Angels (Queen, French, Gray, Rock Beauty), sharpnose puffers, parrotfish, wrasse, several types of tangs, triggers, damsels, even a scorpionfish.

The highlights were a large spotted Moray eel, a young grouper, and a close encounter with a small green sea turtle. No sharks today, but might try to go out again on Thursday.

Picture below of chart showing commonly encountered fish, a large portion of which I saw.

A former boss refused to say the name of the fellow in the second to last column, 4th from the bottom. So instead he called them "Elusive Richards". Still makes me chuckle and it is what I'll call them from time to time to amuse myself.

That would be a great poster to add to a fishroom.

awesome, enjoy. Bring back the good weather!
I wish i could, highs in the 80s and very little rain, i think it’s supposed to be in the 30s when i get back.

Went out diving again today, 2 new sites, saw a ~4 foot green sea turtle, ~3.5 foot barracuda, some small stingrays, and plenty of fish, most ones I had previously seen.

I bought a waterproof case for my phone to take down, didn’t realize the touchscreen would stop working underwater, so only got pictures at the second site, known as “Delila” or “Delilah.” No touchscreen means no zoom or ability to work with focus, but a few pictures below. Will post a few more when I can look at them on a laptop and do some cropping.

Thanks. I still haven't taken the time to go through the rest of my pics on a computer, but one of the people I dove with sent some of his pictures from one of our sites, I think they were from Santa Rosa Shallows.
