I use older gorilla racks and they are ok as long as the tank is large enough to be supported by the beams. You cannot put a tank where only the board is supporting it. Mine is 48x18 and I can put a 40 breeder and a 10(short side out) on each shelf.

I've been looking into using gorilla racks i the near future, the the ones I am considering look to be built with a larger frame than the one you have. In any case, it is recommended to replace the mdf with plywood and coat it make it waterproof or at least water resistant.

Those work great -- I use them, too. But, yea, you want to replace that thin MDF asap. They're pretty standard fits for a 3/4" plywood sheet, which will hold pretty much anything you put on it. If you really wanted to get fancy, screwing a few 2x4s to the bottom of it as braces will help, too.
