PICNIC PREORDERS

CCA Members
Hey folks,

We have a LIMITED PRE ORDER LIST for the CCA Summer Picnic.
All orders are due by 2 August at 4 PM. NO LATE ORDERS will be accepted. NO LATE ORDERS.

The CCA Summer Picnic is Members Only, so, uh, pay your dues if you wanna order any of these fish.
I will update this list at least once between now and then, and I'll add some (inexpensive) bread and butters then, too! :)

Pre Order Terms and Conditions:
All orders must be received and paid by the deadline. We cannot accept late orders, sorry! Orders must be made via e-mail to BatfishAquatics@gmail.com. We will not accept orders sent by any other means. All payments must be sent via PayPal to Batfish Aquatics at Gmail . Please contact us for more information. Fish must be picked up at designated time, any failure to pickup voids your payment. Please contact us if you are unable to pickup fish due to an emergency, and we will work something out (I'm not a jerk.)

PRE ORDER: HOW IT WORKS. This is a pre-order list. The fish on this list are currently not on hand, but available from some of our great suppliers. You may order from this list to get in on these great prices, and help fill up the supplier order. You must order before the cut-off date. In order to secure these fish, you must prepay via PayPal to BatfishAquatics@gmail.com before the deadline.

Generally, fish on this list are at least 10-25% below our usual retail cost. This is an incentive to pre-order these fish, and help us "fill the boxes" from the wholesalers. Additionally, it allows us to offer fish that we'll probably never keep on hand, because we have a guaranteed customer in mind.

Please note that I am not looking at these fish, and have not seen them. I can only give you a guestimate of size. I cannot provide you with photos (use google images). I am not picking these fish, and cannot guarantee that you'll get a "really nice male," or "one that has a lot of blue on him." I can pass on reasonable requests, but make no promises, or guarantees. If you are specifically looking for a special request regarding a fish on this list (e.g., you really need a female XL Jurupari), please let me know -- I may be able to order a bunch of them and help you get exactly what you want. Please also keep in mind that wholesalers use a different ruler than most of us use, known as the "Male Measurement Device." An advertised 6" fish is very seldom actually six inches.

In the event that a fish you order does not arrive, you will be refunded, or may apply the balance to another fish purchase. In the event that any fish you ordered arrives in an unacceptable condition, including much smaller than expected, not as described, or other reasonable problem, you will be refunded for them -- this very, very rarely happens (this excludes any "special requests; if you ask for a male and get a female... well, you took a chance!).

All fish are unsexed, and sex is never guaranteed, unless you're cute and buy me a drink. Fish sold as Pairs should be a male / female pair, but sometimes mistakes happen. There is no guarantee on compatibility.

Please note, you must include your full name on any order.
I am not bringing fish to Britt Pokemom, John FishLuvr66, or anyone who does not give me their entire name. :p

If anyone is interested in ordering Teleogramma brichardi, let me know. I need one male, though I'd love to have more. If a few people order them we'd have a better chance at actually getting males and females.

What do you mean by "no guarantee"? That they'll be what is listed or that you'll get them at all?

Hmmmmmm, some interesting westies. Anyone have information on the taeniatus from Boya? I'm not familiar with that collection point.

A handful of fish species do really poorly in our water, and do not ship well. These include most tetras in the Paracheirodon genus, wild Rams, and a few others. Pipefish, with their high metabolism, can literally starve to death in 48-hours or less. As such, if the fish comes in dead or dies before you pick it up, there's no guarantee. If the fish doesn't come in, of course, you aren't on the hook for it! :)

We have fairly high success rates with these fish or we wouldn't list them at all.

Yes, Pv. taeniatus was renamed, confusingly, to Pv. kribensis, except for some varieties.

Thanks. I found Anton’s article after I posted. I’m not finding any mentions of P. taeniatus “Boya”. Wonder if it’s a similar situation?

I was kind of wondering that too. But it's not mentioned anywhere so I don't know.

Josh, any thoughts on this from your supplier?

The best answer I've gotten:

Boya is a region just north of Moliwe. It's spelled in English as Buea (Not Beau), but the Cameroon people pronounce it "Boya" and ... hence the spelling. :)
