Hati was from Marietta, PA in Lancaster county. He served with the 285th F.A.O. B. in WWII alongside several other men from the area and from other parts of PA. The 285th F.A.O.B. were the victims of the Malmedy Massacre in Belgium at the beginning of the Battle of the Bulge.
