Marineland 350 Pro flow really weak

I pulled this filter out of storage for my 65 gallon. The flow is really weak. I really thought this was going to get the water moving at least somewhat.

Any advice? Besides buy/make a new filter?

Did you clean the impeller?

I'd also try doing a full breakdown and cleaning before spending the money on a new filter. I had two aquaclears doing almost the exact same thing, and once I got the impeller cleaned up and removed built up gunk on the strainer to the intake tube, they work like a charm. Good luck!

I agree on the cleaning! Usually the problem is in the intake tubes or around the impeller.

I broke it down and the impeller is really clean but I cleaned it anyways.

A gasket was degraded but I replaced it.

There was a little leak, but I stopped it.

The tubes are clean.

But it's still not as strong as it should be. And there's particulate matter in the water, so much that it looks hazy white.


???! I have the fine, blue sleeve filter in the canister.

What the heck?

The haze could be a bacterial bloom. Is the tank established or newly set up?

It's established. Upon closer inspection, it's tons of tiny air bubbles.

I don't mind that, but still, I wanted more water flow.
