How do you seperate the mosquito larvae from the debris?

I have tubs of water and have tried several different meshes, but I'm still getting a lot of the dirty debris mixed in with the larvae.

Anyone know of any tricks for seperating them?

I have no idea
But here a thought
Scoop them up in a bottle
Place the bottle in the tank the debris will settled and the larva will swim out

I don't like leaving them live inside the house just in case any survive.

I'm a mosquito magnet.

You have two options. You can use a net to scoop the top of the container outside, and hopefully leave the debris behind, or you can dump the debris in the tank.
Chances are, its bits of sticks and leaves and stuff ... biobotanicals, right?
