How do you SAFELY break apart a cracked tank?

    I'd tape it up with duct or painters tape, then break it.

    Thanks for the tip. It was not an aquarium. It was a critter cage designed for reptiles. I am sure that your suggestion would have worked well had I desired to keep the tank. I have since replaced the tank with a reptile rack.
    Thanks again for your suggestion. I will keep it in mind in case I have a tank with an issue in the future.

    That would help remove the majority of the glass, but would likely result in small pieces bordering the edges. Anyhow, it's done and there was little mess, so I am pleased.
