Aquafest 2009 show classes.. question

On the website they have Lake Victoria and Lake Kivu under Division B, non-rift lake old worlds. When in fact they are rift lake cichlids...

This is true.
I believe it was put in the Non because it was a smaller group.
Not positive. I took the list from the last Aquafest and then added all the non-cichlids to it.

Lake victoria isn't technically a rift lake and was formed quite differently than Malawi and tanganyika

That said, it's in east Africa vs. West Africa

There's a good article on cichlid-forum about the great lakes of east Africa

Another question:

Cichlasoma is currently used for only the acaras (many of which were aequidens)

Would true cichlasoma (eg ports) go in aequidens class or cichlasoma class (with fish that used to be cichlasoma but are now nandopsis, Heros, australoheros, archocentrus, etc)?
