I'm looking to clear out some tank space, partially because I picked up some really nice melanurus at the meeting last week and they are bigger that I had pictured and need to put them in a big tank and partially because I know I'll buy something at AquaMania.
Up for sale are:
1. 7"-8"...
Here's a recent pic of my wild caught pair of Atabapo 1s. Female is in front and she is a FATTY. I was hoping she was holding eggs, but no spawn yet only digging, lots of digging.http://i226.photobucket.com/albums/dd62/decker69/IMG_1428.jpg

Nice blog. Went to a talk yesterday hosted by the Capital Cichlid Association in DC on Crenicichla tendybaguassu and other Uruguayan ciclids. Lot of accomplished breeders up...
Does anyone have any tips on breeding Crenicichla sp. "Xingu-I"
I have a definite pair and today they were acting "different".
They also had much darker and vivid coloration that was constantly changing.
They took turns flexing/twitching their bodies at each other (not in a threatening way)...
