When do Chilotapia Rhoadesii start to color

I have a 5 to 6 in male w/c male which so
far is not showing any color . Any ideas?

Awesome fish!! What brand food do you feed him? Any tank mates? These guys can get up to 11-13" and love to eat small snails. You should be seeing some colors on him but nothing crazy yet.
