Saturday, August 12 is the annual CCA BBQ. Christine and Bruce will be hosting again this year (many thanks for their hospitality and support for the club)!
In addition to supplying the main course and drinks, we're planning something new and extra special (with help from our friends and sponsors at Super Cichlids):
We will be premiering the 1st showing in the US of a new movie by Hans van Heusden on collecting and keeping Orthochromis species.
I've seen a trailer for the movie and it is Nat Geo-level awesomeness - both above and below water in Africa!
What's better? We have a huge (12' x 10') outdoor screen to show it.
The BBQ starts at 5 PM. Movie starts at dusk (sunset is about 8 PM). Move is about 1 hr long.
What more could we do? We've got - at least - a couple of group buys in the works:
- Lisa from SuperCichlids will have fish, Northfin Food and other great stuff...along with the Wheel of Fortune (look out for a thread on how to win a chance to spin!) - www.supercichlids.com
- We're confirming a group buy with a great African Cichlid vendor and sponsor - stay tuned for details!
Please plan to bring a side dish or desert (and/or some beverages) - we'll start a thread later... and also plan to bring a blanket and/or folding chair for the movie...
