Congrats!
Now, over the next few months you will experience what is known
'New Baby Syndrome' (charactherized by the arrival of a new baby
and followed by what is described as 'Priority Shift'.
'New Baby Syndrome':
Symtoms include sleepyness, drownyness and lethargy.
You may also experience 'zoning out' - which are essentially micro-naps
the brain learns to take during the day as you continue on with daily life. These
can occur pretty much any time without warning. They're especially dangerous
during meetings. If you've ever caught in such a situation and on waking up
you find everyone staring at you for an answer to some question you slept
though - respond by asking - 'What do you guys think?'.
You will also experience olfactory attacks by dirty diapers which can be easily
fended off by a well placed clothes pin on the nose.
'Priority Shift'
Symtoms first start off with dirty aquariums. You'll battle your innermost
fear of breaking down a fishtank, eventually losing the battle and leading
up to the total break down and storage of such equipment. In some cases
it may be essential to keep atleast one tank up and running in order to maintain
some sanity. Additionally, over the years you'll learn that an 'open top' tank, though
looks cool, is not the way to go.
More to come later...I feel the onset of a micro-nap.
