Question about mouthbrooder eggs

Several times when I have stripped Peacocks and Haps after spawning (into a tumbler) I have found that many of the eggs turn a strange 50% clear - 50% light tan color after a few days. The best way to describe it is if you had a chicken egg with a transparent shell. The bottom half off the egg would be colored like the yolk and the top half would be clear like the white. None of these eggs eventually hatch.

I'm aware of eggs turning white and developing fungus and I see that as well. This seems to be a different outcome however. Could it be the result of too rough handling during the transfer process? Anything else?

My suggestion is let the female hold them longer. Strip after the fry is fully developed or when still has egg sac . With egg sac I suggest you tumble .JMO
