if you introduced used sponge a week ago, I am sure you are good to go....

I introduced it last night but it was in someone else's tank for a few days prior to seed. I thought I would be more or less insta-cycled but I may not be. Maybe I need a more established sponge for that? I would think in 12 hours most of the 2.0ppm ammonia would convert to nitrate.

I think most would say 2 weeks to fully seed a filter would be appropriate. If it was only in a tank for a couple of days, the bacteria may still be building up.

Ok i may need to reach out and grab a more well seeded sponge from someone at the event. I think I can get a direct drop in for my aqua clear from Greg still.
