I saw it on some food network show, maybe Man vs. Food?, they visited a Donut shop in Portland called Voodoo Donut. They had a Maple syrup and bacon donut. Go there! At least once!

The Wet Spot is the retail store, I believe the cichlid exchange is the wholesale side. Voodoo Donuts is a must see shop, and if you want to get married they can arrange that too. The tunnels under the city is also interesting, and if you're interested in wines they have some good vineyards in the surrounding area. Also the spruce goose is housed inside a building. The nightlife is pretty interesting if you get my drift, and they have a wide selection of microbrew beers. Just a couple things about Portland.

If your still in the area, it is well worth the drive down.
Oregon Coast Aquarium - Newport Oregon

The drive down the coast is great.
Also, Hood river dam has an impressive hatchery. Not far from their is Full Sail Brewery, awesome food.
