Tankful Thursday

Hey everyone,

I decided to focus down my youtube channel and then I felt inspired to start a weekly series. I decided to call it Tankful Thursday.

The first two happened where I just filmed some fish. Yay!

The third one, I did it more of like an update with music in the back.

This latest one, I get some really good shots of the fish, with a much better camera, and I think it's a much better show for it. It'll continue to evolve but I'm working on it. Let me know what you all think.

I guess if you had to ask me about why I'm doing it is because I enjoy making videos and this is a subject matter I care about so I see it as a win win. I'm trying to step up the quality of the content I'm making because I feel it's more enjoyable to watch a well made product. We'll see where this goes!

I also kind of started it now that I have the fish room. After joining the club and catching MTS so bad it hurts, I think it's a good way for me to track progress in a visual way. I want to slowly add in things I'm learning into the series of what it takes to run a fish room, having this being my first one.

I'm thinking within the next couple of week I can do a demonstration on how I make the fish bowls. It'll be an entire episode at the glass shop but I think it'll be interesting. What do you all think?

You're welcome Victor! Those apistos you picked up look awesome! I'm definitely interested in seeing a video on how you make those fish bowls.

I put another episode out today. I got to set up the hand blown fish bowl I made and I did the first half of the video on that process of how I added the filter to the bowl. Then it goes into an update on my me moving my fish to breed. I give some in dept explanation on signs from acaras breeding. Enjoy!

Maybe I can actually get someone in the studio to video tape my making a fish bowl. I'm hoping I can get it done by next week.

For your spongefilter, you could have attached the airline from under it rather than letting go from the top. not sure how much modification it would need, but it will look nice.

Thanks! I'm using a Nikon DSLR with a 50mm to 150mm lens.

I have a lot of males! I was surprised. They are so colorful. I want to try and get the right lighting to you can see the real color of those guys because it's unreal.

I didn't get a chance to have anyone come to the shop to film me making a fish bowl (although I made a REALLY nice one). That's a cup that holds about 3 beers next to the fish bowl for scale. The lip will be orange but when it's hot you can't see the color:

I'm going to try and get someone to come in to film the fish bowl making but It's hard to work around peoples schedule. Yay, life! hahah

I just got Tankful Thursday Episode 8 out.

I did it on How to keep and breed electric blue acaras. I noticed a lot of people either want to keep these fish or want to learn about them so I did a video just on them. I give you some nice shots of the fish while giving you my 2 cents on what i've learned from keeping these gorgeous beauties:
