Hey everyone, PVAS is doing a fish rescue very early tomorrow morning at a local fish store that is closing. Our "extraction team" will go in, bag up the remaining fish in the store and transport them to the PVAS meet for the mini-auction. The meeting starts at 1:00 PM, doors open at 12:30. We will be picking up the following from the store:

[FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif][FONT=Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]LG red crayfish
2 SM Marble crayfish (self-cloning sp.)
1 FT-long Channel cat (MUST go to INDOOR tank till spring)
Shiro Utsuri or Bekko 8-9" koi x2 (MUST go to INDOOR tank till spring)
Fancy goldfish (MED Oranda x1, asst. SM x5-ish)
Breeding pair XXL Bumblebee mbuna (MUST be in XXL tank w/ hardy mbuna dither fish!)
Asst. SM, MED, LG, XL XXL mbuna x20-ish
Asst. MED, LG, XL, XXL peacocks (& their relatives) x20-ish
MED Parrot cichlids x2 (either pair or 2 females--been together since babes)
SM Oscar x2
SM Firemouths x2
LG Clown barbs x4
LG T-barbs x2
Giant danios x7-ish
LG Black tetras x5-ish
Asst. danios (some)
Asst. livebearers (guppies, mollies, swords)

Please, if you are interested in any of these fish, come to our mini-auction and buy them! The channel cat has already found a home, but the rest will be available at reasonable prices.

This is our holiday meet, so if you are inclined, bring a dish to share, and a wrapped fish-related gift under $20 for the whacky gift exhange. You do not have to participate in order to get in on the auction! Just come and get fish if you want! We just want to be sure that all the fish find good homes.

Meeting address: 4401 Sideburn Road, Fairfax, Virginia 22030

Please note, we will also be collecting for our charity event, "Give a Kid a Tank" so if you would like to help donate aquariums to needy kids, bring a small donation! Again, it's not required, but would be appreciated. Thanks. :animal0028:

Wow, I just got home from bagging all the fish. Our team was there at 7:00 this morning and seven of us bagged fish all morning. We have a BUNCH of bags of African Cichlids! Blue ones, yellow ones, striped ones, shell dwelling ones, you name it! If you're looking for African Cichlids come to the PVAS meeting today at 1:00 and get them in the mini auction.

What kind of shellies were there?

They were brichardi..... Frankly, I'm really surprised that the cichlid folks didn't show up for the auction. There were some beautiful fish in that store, and many ended up going for a dollar a bag in our auction.

Most were bought by one intrepid African Cichlid fan and he really made out. He was very happy at the end. :D

might have made the trip if I had known there were some Tangs of interest. Didn't see on the list anything.
