I'm actually considering turning that tank back into a community..... Gotta set up the two other tanks I have just sitting to do that though. I really need to get Tony to stop by and snap some more pictures for me. He is a really great photographer.

Paratheaps Synsplium. I believe that's how you spell it/ class it. The name changes every other month it seems like.

Thanks all!

Yeah, thought it was funny that both Rachel's shot and mine were of other people's fish. :)

Drew's tanks (as well as the trip to Rusty Wessel's house last ACA) have definitely had an impact on the stocking on some of my tanks here over the last year. I don't have any synspilum, but have a nice pair of Parachromis La Ceibas and growouts of P. breidohri, P. bifaciatus and the Amphilophus amarillos all coming up.

Monster fish! What?

If you're an ACA member, here's an article from Eric Hanneman about collecting Paratheraps melanurus in an area near Lago Peten, Guatemala (called Luguna Yaxha):

To my knowledge, all of the melanurus in the hobby are from a couple of pairs that Eric and Rusty brought back!

Paratheraps Synspilum for those of you looking to google more information

Looks like a female, males in breeding color are much more phenomenal even with their naturally subdued hues.
