Adult Rainbow Cichlids for free

Now that two of my rainbow cichlids (either Herotilapia Multispinosa or Archocentrus Multispinosa, apparently depending on which hand is your primary hand) have paired up, I'm looking to reduce my population. Accordingly, I'm looking to give away as many as 5 adults. They're young adults -- I got them as fry from Hollyfish2000 back in December. I'm not sure about gender. Pretty sure I've got a mix, but it's not easy to tell.

They're very nice, pretty Central American cichlids. Don't get too big -- about 4 inches. Only mildly aggressive, and that's when they're breeeding. Will tolerant a wide range of water conditions (survived our five day power outage earlier this month without problem).

I'm in the northern part of the District, off of 16th Street, between Silver Spring and the former Walter Reed Army Medical Center.

Ha! Welcome to my world. My babies are all over the club. Part of the reason I never pull the babies to grow out anymore.

Yes, they are a fabulous fish. The are pairing, so once you have a pair pull the leftovers unless you have at least a 4' tank with significant sight breaks. I have two in a 36" 58 gallon right now but it's a crap shoot and I've got a huge bunch of wood and java fern essentially dividing the tank in half. They will defend fry, but not to the detriment of cories or tetras. But don't put them in with tougher CAs as they can't compete.

Holly, it's definitely all your fault!

Manuel, that's great. I'm around this weekend, if that helps.

Fry everywhere

In addition to my c123 spawning, I've got two other spawnings and maybe more.

First, my Bolivian ram pair has free swimming fry:

And my second set of rainbows seems to be a pair:

And I think this female p.pulcher is fanning eggs:

I've removed some of the ram fry with a turkey baster. The rest will just have to deal with home aquatic Darwinism.

And yes, Jon Clark, I'll fill out the BAP form shortly.
