I am setting up a new tank and I am running the new filter on my established tank, how long before i can setup the new aquarium and move it so that it establishes beneficial bacteria?

It's an established tank, right? If you can stir up any "funk" in your tank and let the filter clean it out it'll seed faster. That's what I usually do.

"Funk". I love it when you talk microbiology!

I like the "squeeze an old sponge filter" method. Gross, but oddly satisfying, and sets everything up on a fast-track.
