The article said most of the fish were chipped. That suggests they were mostly farmed. Either way, it's not a good idea to try to smuggle anything.

In the U.S. it would be higher.

Australia has the most strict rules of importing tropical fish on the planet. Only fish that are on their white list may be imported or possessed. There are currently just about 300 species on that list. Many of the fish we have commonly in pet stores are illegal in Australia.

But they do have their own rainbows though.
